*dramatic voice* Last Time on Dragon Ball Z... I mean English class.

At the moment I’m working on my interview assignment, revising some of my previous work, and working on an informative speech for another class. I thought I’d mention it because it’s a lot like the research paper I’m also working on. The speech won’t be as long as my research paper but, I have to look for scholarly sources and inform the masses like the research paper. I also have to thank my English class for my public speaking assignment. A week or so ago one of the students said they were focusing on how gay marriage affects the economy. I thought that topic was really interesting and when it came time to choose a topic for public speaking I decided to go with that. I’m quite thankful for my classmates because I really didn’t want to another paper on played out topics.

I’ll be doing the actual interview today and start writing it all down tonight. I’m thankful that I get out early because now I have plenty of time to do all the work required and still have free time. That’s going to change next month once I start working again, but by then I’ll have a lot of major works done. I need to reread what exactly I need to do with my interview again but it should be smooth sailing. I’m debating whether I’ll use this interview into my research project or not. I already have interviews from professors, but I guess another interview thrown in wouldn’t hurt, especially if the interview goes well.

I don’t really have much to say about my English class this week. I mean Tuesday I wasn’t in class due to illness and apparently that class only lasted ten minutes. On Thursday I had a conference with the professor and that only lasted about fifteen minutes. I guess the conference was helpful. At least it gives me an idea of how I’m doing.

Research

So I’ve been thinking about it and I’ve come to the decision that I will do my research paper on zombies, what they’re important to today’s culture, and how they’re the best monsters because of it. I mean I’m fairly educated in the mythology of zombies and vampires, where they originate, what they’ve represented in the last couple of decades. There are a couple of academic journals about them and I actually a few people who major in their mythology of zombies and society. I already had to interview a professor at ODU about zombies so I can add that to my paper.

I’ll organize my paper by first off explaining my thesis on how zombies are society’s top monster then, I’ll talk about the origins of zombies and vampires. I’ll go on to explain how they are metaphors and allusions to things going on in society and how they change throughout the decade to reflect society. I’ll then explain how zombies are better than vampires because of how zombies are still able to evolve while vampires today have reached their limit and have actually started to degrade back to their original monstrous form. I’ll add interviews I have done recently to defend both views to give my paper even more credibility.

I’ve learned some new things outside of school. Recently my cat has gone missing so I’ve been forced to go to animal control, post signs, and ask my neighbors nearby to keep on the lookout for him. While researching ways to find him I have found that there are two ways to search depending if your cat is an indoor or outdoor cat. Unfortunately because my cat is an outdoor cat, I have to search around a 5 mile radius because indoor cats will be too scared to travel, where as my cat knows the area. I mean on the bright side he is a hunter, so either someone has taken him in or he’s injured. I’m hoping it’s the first one and someone see’s the lost cat signs.
